COLONIALISM and the Occupy Wall Street Movement

Extract from the Declaration of the Occupation of New York City
September 29, 2011
"They have perpetuated colonialism at home and abroad."

COLONIALISM and the Occupy Wall Street Movement

To speak of colonialism without moving into decolonization on the ground is without purpose.  The US has yet to endorse the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

Q: Is the Occupy Wall Street movement, with its diverse and particular General Assemblies willing to stand in support of the Right of Self Determination of Indigenous Peoples?  Will the Occupy Wall Street Movement face off on the grandfathers of the Masters' Narrative and deny the dehumanization that is perpetuated by the celebration of the invasions of World War I October 12, 1492 and the original Shock Doctrine of the Doctrine of Discovery?

  1. Love the poster design. My sister is at the LA Occupy, can anyone help with a poster for the LA Indigenous Occupation?

  3. I actually did not believe I would see something like this happen in my lifetime. So encouraging to see people standing up for themselves.
